Using the principals of classical horsemanship, Andria Kidd Training Center has a commitment to build a positive communication and partnership between the horse and rider.
Understanding how a horse moves and thinks is the first key to achieving horsemanship. At AKTC the primary focus is on how a rider can ask a horse to perform a task successfully. The emphasis is placed on balance and timing, rhythm and cadence. And also knowing when a horse can do something and when he can’t – and why.
At Andria Kidd Training Center, all horses and riders are given the opportunity to work to their best level. Success is found by using solid fundamentals and acquiring additional skills and perfecting them. Students will learn how a horse’s conformation affects movement, how equipment influences performance, how changes in shoeing will determine balance and way of going – and why.
Instilling the concept: It is (almost) never the horse’s fault and it is always the rider’s responsibility, promotes an objective approach to interaction between a rider and their horse. It is a winning attitude that places the rider’s focus and concentration on the partnership entirely, thereby creating a happy, competent and successful combination.
It is never too early or too late to begin a partnership with a horse. Andria Kidd Training Center offers instruction in several riding disciplines, each is tailored to the rider’s age and ability.
